I Was Just Craving a Real Burger—and Then I Found Smashies in Fulham

So last Saturday, I was walking back from Bishop’s Park after running around with my nephew (he’s four, I’m exhausted), and I was absolutely starving. Not like “grab a Pret sandwich” hungry—I wanted something hot, cheesy, messy, and way more satisfying.

I remembered my mate Jamie raving about a new burger spot called Smashies. He swore they had the best smash burger in Fulham, so I figured I’d give it a shot. It’s just off Fulham Road, not far from Parsons Green Station—super easy to get to.

What I Ordered (And Why I’d Do It Again)

I went for the Stamford Smash double smashed beef patties, American cheese, grilled onions, and this tangy house sauce that just works. The brioche bun was slightly toasted, soft but held everything together (no falling apart halfway through, thank God).

I also got a portion of loaded fries—the cheesy kind with jalapeños and that spicy mayo drizzle. Total game-changer. And for £13.50? Honestly felt like a steal compared to what some spots in Chelsea are charging now.

Shoutout to Anwar (guy behind the counter) who gave me extra napkins without me even asking. Legend. Also, pretty sure I overheard someone getting a free drink just for posting a pic on Instagram—might try that next time 😂

Why I’d Call Them Again in a Heartbeat

Look, I’ve had good burgers in London—Patty&Bun, Honest Burger, you name it. But Smashies? They’ve got this proper no-fuss, local vibe. You don’t feel like you’re being rushed or upsold or judged for ordering extra sauce. Just good people making great food.

And they do takeaway and delivery, which is dangerous because now I know I can get this delivered to my flat near Putney Bridge. Goodbye willpower.

What You Should Know Before You Go

  • Smashies is a few minutes from Fulham Broadway, right near the Sainsbury’s Local
  • Try the Beefy Boy Burger if you like a kick—Jamie swears by it
  • Avoid the dinner rush (6–7:30pm)—there’s not tons of seating inside
  • As of May 2025, burgers are around £8–£10, fries about £3, and drinks £5-ish
  • Meal deals save you a couple quid if you’re hungry-hungry

I’d Just Text Them Next Time—Way Faster Than Calling

Next time I’m skipping the queue and just texting my order ahead. Saves time, and honestly, I might just make Smashies my post-footy ritual from now on.

Know any other hidden food spots in Fulham or Hammersmith worth trying? I’d love to check them out! Always down for a local recommendation.
