Why My Kids—and Okay, Me Too—Are Addicted to Smashies

Last Friday was one of those nights. The kids were bouncing off the walls, I forgot to defrost dinner (again), and my husband looked at me like, “Wanna just grab burgers?” Honestly, best decision we’ve made all week.

So we piled into the car, cranky toddlers and all, and headed straight to Smashies in Fulham. If you’ve never had Smash Burgers in Fulham London—what are you doing with your life?? I’ve been going there with the kids like twice a month, and I’m full-on obsessed. Like, consider-this-my-love-letter obsessed.

This Burger Changed My Life (Not Even Joking)
I always, always get the Beefy Boy. It’s not even a question anymore. Perfectly smashed beef patty, cheese, pickles, that sauce… ugh. I don’t know what magic they sprinkle on it but I dream about it sometimes. It’s messy in the best way—like, grab-the-napkins-before-you-even-sit-down messy.

My husband’s all about the Rash ‘N’ Smash. He says it’s the crispy rashers that do it for him, but I think he just likes saying “Rash ‘N’ Smash” out loud. He orders it every single time like it’s a ritual.

Why My Kids Keep Begging to Go Back
Now, my kids are super picky. Like, one-of-them-won’t-even-eat-pasta picky. But the Smashies menu is massive—burgers, chicken, veggie stuff, loaded fries, kids’ meals. Even my fussy youngest found something she loved (the chicken goujons, in case you’re wondering). And the girl at the counter—Mia? Leah? I honestly can’t remember—was so sweet to my daughter when she dropped her juice. Total angel.

The Shakes Are Next Level
Let’s talk milkshakes. My kids would literally bathe in the Oreo one if I let them. Thick, creamy, actual Oreo bits, none of that watery nonsense. I had a sip and ended up getting my own. Classic mom move, right?

Smash Loaded Fries = A Spiritual Experience
Okay but the Smash Loaded Fries?? I’m not being dramatic when I say they changed my entire mood. Cheese, beef bits, sauce… it’s like all your burger toppings decided to throw a party on fries. I barely shared and I have no regrets.

Also side note: I totally forgot to order extra dips—again. One day I’ll learn.

What We Ordered (and Paid)
Beefy Boy – £7.49
Rash ‘N’ Smash – £10.99
Smash Loaded Fries – £7.99
Oreo Milkshake – £4.99
Kids Chicken Goujon Meal – £4.99
Total: About £36 (plus a few add-ons we didn’t need but couldn’t resist)

Fulham Burger Spot That Just Gets It
There’s just something about Smashies. It’s chill, the food hits every time, and it’s one of the few family-friendly burger places in London where I don’t feel like we’re annoying everyone. The vibe’s relaxed, the music’s fun, and there’s always someone with ketchup on their sleeve—usually me.

Have you tried Smashies yet? What’s your go-to burger order? Tell me—I might need to try it next time!
